Abstract


The data collected from the Central Bureau of Statistics show that the average population growth rate in the province of West Java (2003 - 2009) amounting to 1.81%. During this period the population growth rate decreased most sharply in 2003, reaching 3.06%. If the trend growth rate of this decline continues over time, later may be the rate of population growth in this province to zero or even reverse to negative. This paper will discusses the factors that affect population growth rate decline as birth rates (fertility), mortality (mortality), migration among regions and the province of the momentum of population growth that is hidden in this area.
